Mr Kalon told the press that the driver of the Nissan was attempting to overtake a bus infront without before checking oncoming traffic, resulting in a head-on collision with the lorry.
The lorry was ferying bricks towards Ruaka from Nairobi, when the accident happened at around 2.30pm on Thursday September 9,2021.
The traffic police boss said that three people lost their lives on the spot as the lorry occupants escaped with minor injuries.
“As I give remarks on the accident, the Nissan veered off the road before colliding head-on with the lorry. There are three casualties," said Kalon.
The bodies of the three passengers were moved to St Teresa funeral home Hospital morgue.
Police have launched investigations into the alleged incident.
