Narrow Escape as Bar Owner Suspected to be Involved in Murder of a Man Escapes Death from Angry Mob

Police in Migori County have launched a manhunt for a bar owner believed to be involved in the murder of a 52-year-old man who was reportedly killed and body dumped near Nyabikongori village in Kuria East Sub County on Tuesday morning.

Confirming the incident, Migori County Police Commander Mark Wanjala said that the body of the deceased was found dumped near the bar where the heinous crime is suspected to have been committed.

The deceased, identified as Paul Monanga, bloodstains were traced back to the bar which almost got burnt down by angry residents if it were not for the police intervention.

“The bloodstains indicate that the deceased was allegedly killed inside the bar and body dumped outside,” Wanjala explained.

The owner of the bar went into hideout after escaping from angry residents who wanted to lynch him. The bar owner is allegedly said to have known of the committeds crime but tried to cover up the crime with intentions of protecting his business.

The caused of the death of Monanga is yet to be established.

The body of the deceased has since been moved to Migori referral hospital mortuary pending police investigation and an autopsy.
