Kenyans have congratulated the effort made by the police to arrest Ibrahim Rotich, the husband to Kenyan long distance athlete Agness Tirop who had just represented Kenya last month in Adidas event in Germany where she won by breaking the women only 10 km world record.
Rotich had been named as the key suspect in the murder of Tirop. The body of Tirop was found in her bedroom in their home in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County on Wednesday.
After the police manhaunt they manage to apprehend him in Changamwe Mombass in a police station within the Police Divison on Thursday night. Rotich is said to have visited a relative in the area but the the relative tipped his bosses.
The death of Tirop made the AK boss Jackson Tuwei to cancel the cross country events which was to be held next week, this was to enable the country to mourning the World Championship Medallist.
