What's Next For Locals Using River Yala After 21 Bodies Were Recovered

Photo courtesy of The Standard. After the recovery of more than 19 bodies at river Yala in Gem Siaya County, the Member of Parliament of Gem (Elisha Odhiambo) has come forth and called out the Office of the director of prosecution and the directorate of criminal investigations for taking too long to probe the dumping of these bodies.

While it was earlier revealed that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations was going to dispatch a forensic team, it seems that after an autopsy was carried out at a Morgue in Yala Sub-County the two recent identified bodies showed torture marks.

MP Odhiambo has also opened up on the wrangles between the DPP and the DCI as the cause to why their is delayed provision of justice.

According to The Standard, River Yala has been used as dumping site for dead Bodies for the past two years.

Odhiambo also reiterated that after the discovery of the bodies in the river, locals who have been using the river Yala as source of water have posed health concerns and showed signs of uneasiness.
