"I Was Arrested And Jailed For Life In Prison After I Drugged And Stole From A Man In A Hotel," Joyce Narrates

Joyce Wanja from Nairobi painfully narrated how she was arrested and jailed for life in prison, After she drugged and stole from a man in a hotel room.

According to her she was born and rasoed in a family of four children and she was the first born. Her father had died when she was young and her mother was the sole breadwinner. She faced problems at home and she dropped out in form two due to lack of school fee.

She met a group of young girls and she spent her time drinking and sleeping with different men in night clubs. A few months later she got pregnant and since she didn't know the father of her baby therefore she raised him alone. After a few years she got pregnant again and gave birth to twins.

She said that her mother disowned her because of her bad character and due to this she started using drugs, and she became an addict. Her adiction forced her to do bad things and she started to drug different men in night clubs to rob them.

She said that she formed a gang and they stole from different men at gum point. According to her she would either drug or lure a man to hotel room when she robed them at gunpoint.

She said that one day as usual she lured a man into a hotel room and she alarmed her friends, who came and robbed him at gunpoint. Unfortunately her victim recognized her, and a few days later the police arrested her at her house. She was taken to court a few days later and she was charged with robbery with violence.

She said that the evidence was overwhelming and with an year she was jailed for life in prison at Langata women prison. Her life was was difficult but after a couple of years and got used to it. She took several courses and enrolled on government programs that included counselling and dress making.

"I was jailed for life in prison after I was arrested for drugging and robing a man at gun point." She said.

Joy Regretted all her crimes while still in prison where she changed her life. After thirteen years she was released on good behaviour by the president of Kenya. She went back home and started a new life.

She is now a tailor and she lives a crime free life. She has advised young people to stay away from criminal activities.
