A female police officer attached to the Administration Police Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit (CIPU) has shot herself dead.
Doreen Gitonga, attached to the Kiambu County CIPU commander, confirmed the incident and told the source that Edith Nyawira was on duty but returned to her home on Tuesday morning and took her own life.

According to sources, the reason why the officer did this shocking incident has not been revealed yet. But we are on our knees following the incident because the officer left a suicide note. So keep following me for more updates.
Police officers from Kiambu Police Station have arrived at the scene and are processing the crime scene before they can exhume the body of the deceased.
This comes at a time when suicides of police officers are on the rise in the country.
Like last week, a police officer shot his colleagues before returning after arguing with each other.
