Reports of a transformer falling hence hitting a public service vehicle and endangering the lives of passengers emerged online.
According to reports, the incident occurred along River road in the Nairobi business center. An eye witness revealed that two poles that were holding the transformer fall for unknown reasons.
The incident transpired to panic among passengers who reacted very fast and run out of the bus before the worst could happen. All passengers were evacuated from the bus for safety.
Traffic police officers were informed and toured the scene to investigate the matter. Electricians from Kenya power and lighting companies were also informed and came to disconnect the electrical current before removing the transformer.
No causality was reported in the incident, citizens cautioned KPLC to be extra vigilant and be regularly checking their transformers to avoid such incidents that could have resulted in fatalities. KPLC officials are yet to respond to the incident.
