It is a sad day for a livestock farmer in Maramar village, Baringo North after his 15 cows succumbed to an unknown illness. The farmer who is identified as Musa Kibbir narrated in pain that his cows were in good health until Sunday evening when they started dying one by one.
Musa also explained the kind of acaricides he has been using on the animals for them to be investigated. According to reliable sources, the carcasses had blood oozing from the mouth and nostrils.
The Area OCPD warned asked all the villagers to avoid eating the meat but to burn or bury the remains of the cows. He also promised to investigate deep into this matter and identify the cause of this death.
The villagers are calling the county government through the ministry of agriculture and livestock development to intervene and investigate the cause of unfortunate the incident.
