Today early in the morning news hitting the headlines revealed that a tragic fire accident occured during the night at Ngimari village, Embu County. The fire accident consumed seven lives, among them a couple and five children. The fire comsumed them to death and they were beyond recognition.
According to their kin who survived the accident as he slept in a different house, the fire started late at night. He parted ways with the family of seven yesterday at 10:00pm. 85-year old Benjamin Muthathai says that the family prepared food at his place, ate and went to sleep at their house. So they did not light any fire at their place.
However, late at night Muthathai was woken up by bright fire rays that were coming from the house that was already ablaze. He screamed and alerted the other neighbors who came and helped to put out the fire. Unfortunately they were unable to rescue any member of the family. They all perished in that accident, leaving nothing including the house which was burnt to the ground.
