Nairobi Expressway Bows To Pressure, Announces The Following To All Kenyans As New Details Emerge

Nairobi Expressway through its management, Moja Expressway has today bowed to pressure piled on it by Kenyans over its inconsistent naming of different sections of the expressway.

The current naming system includes names such Nairobi West, Nairobi East, Mlolongo that Kenyans argued that did not match with the correct places.

The company has announced that the toll station at the James Gichuru junction along Waiyaki way, Nairobi West, will be named Nairobi Westlands.

The Westlands toll station after the roundabout will be named The Mall, after the adjacent shopping centre.

The Mlolongo toll station will be renamed to Syokimau while that Nairobi East toll station will now be renamed to Syokimau.

According to reports shared by Kenyan.co.ke, it has been established that the contractor used the the mapping of Nairobi based on post colonial mapping of the area.

The Nairobi Expressway was officially opened on 14th May for trials and there has not been major in incidents on the 27.1km road since the start of the trial saved for traffic jam that was experienced on Museum Hill on Monday.
