Glowing Tribute By Orie Rogo Manduli’s Daughter During Requiem Mass

Orie Rogo Manduli’s daughter, Janice Rogo, gave a glowing tribute to her departed mother on Tuesday, October 5.

Janice mourned her mother as a “mighty lioness who anchored and adored me with every fibre of her being”.

The late ex NGO Council chairperson’s daughter addressed mourners at the All Saints Cathedral during the requiem mass of her late mother.

“Our mother adored us all fiercely, but we never thought that the mighty lioness, Agwambess, Tausi, Mama Safi, a true woman, with 100 percent needs, would this year leave us. What went wrong?” posed Janice.

“I never knew death would rob me my loving sister and a woman of style in just two years.

“I will live to miss the woman who gave birth to and nurtured me, and adored me with what she had. It pains and often get myself in tears when I hear neighbours and friends telling me: ‘your mother loved her kids fully. She was a great woman ’.

“I still don't understand if I will be able to come to terms with mum's death soon; my heart and soul is weak. The pain of her loss is unbearable, my world is dim; that encouraging, a strong soul is no more.

I am greatly shaken with your sudden demise mum, because i still don't know where and how I am going to survive without you for the remaining days of my life on this earth. Rest in peace, mum; it is not good, no one will ever replace you.

Manduli’s eldest daughter, Elizabeth Rogo, who was admitted in hospital on September 26, was also present at the requiem mass after being discharged from the Nairobi Hospital.

Elizabeth’s admission halts Orie Rogo Manduli’s funeral service from October 2 to this forthcoming Saturday, October 9.

The next requiem mass has been set for Wednesday, October 6, from 2pm to 4pm at the St. Stephen’s Cathedral Church in Kisumu.

The late Orie Rogo Manduli will be laid to rest on Saturday at her farm in Tondorie Estate in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County.

Manduli lost her life at her Riverside home in Nairobi at the age of 73 on September 15.

She was blessed with two daughters.
