Two ladies who were going to work on Tuesday morning survived attack by three gun-toting thugs before mob lynched on of the suspects to death at Capitol Hill estate next summer city in Ruai.
Sergeant Samuel Mutuku a police cop from administration police service, was going to work when he came across the attack. He immediately produced his ceska semi-automatic pistol loaded with 9mm rounds of ammunition and asked the gangsters to ground their firearms.
The suspects refused and started to fight him back. This prompted the sergeant to shoot them leaving one of them fatally wounded as others fled the scene.
With one gangster sprawling down, an enraged Mutuku chased the escaping two thugs before they jumped on their gateway motorbike parked few distance from the scene.
The gateway motorbike couldn't start prompting the thugs to fled on foot. At the scene, charged mob surrounded the wounded thug baying for his blood.
Several orders by Sergeant Mutuku to leave the suspect be arraigned in court proved futile as the irate mob lynched him to death.
Their getaway bike registration number KMFL 494T, was recovered as sleuths manhunt for the two suspects who are still at large. A mobile phone that was stolen from one of the ladies was seized from the thugs. Also found was a long sword and a panga.
