After an inconclusive autopsy, Paul Gicheru's family is still unsure of what caused their relative's passing on.
It was discovered during the exercise on Friday, September 30, that additional investigation was required to establish the precise reason of Gicheru's demise.
Gicheru's postmortem was performed by government pathologist Dr. Dorothy Njeru in front of the family, its attorney Senior Counsel John Khaminwa, and the police.
Some of the exercise samples were taken by homicide investigators from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the medical team for additional testing at the government chemist.
When the laboratory tests will be finished and the results made public is yet unknown.
Gicheru's postmortem was supposed to take place earlier in the week, but family disputes caused the event to be postponed as the divided factions worked out their differences.
On Monday evening, September 26, the ICC suspect was discovered dead in his Karen home.
Gicheru was discovered with froth developing in his lips, giving rise to suspicions that the attorney may have been poisoned.
However, John Khaminwa, a family lawyer, rejected the allegations.
