Inspector General of Police Mutyambai Reveals Why Police Officers Erect Road Blocks and Patrols

The Kenya national police service commission (NPSC) is one of the three security organs constituted in the new constitution of Kenya of 2010. The police officers are mandated to perform various roles in the country such as confining suspected criminals, promoting accountability and transparency, maintaining security to our roads through regulating traffic rules and maintaining law and order.

The commission is currently under the leadership of Hillary Mutyambai who is the inspector general of police. Today, the IG Mr. Mutyambai has revealed that the main reason why police officers erect road blocks and mobile patrols at our highway roads is to maintain security and ensure that criminals are nabbed during the exercise.

In conclusion, Mutyambai was replying to questions asked by Kenyans during the live discussion with IG on social media through a program called "Engage the IG". What's your take on this, do you think erecting road blocks to our roads will help curb insecurity?
