Most parts of Kenya experiences two rain seasons: March to May’s “long rains” and October to December’s “short rains”.
The months of June to August are mainly cool and dry over most parts of the country except for some parts in the western region that report some rains. Hot and dry conditions are observed over the entire country in January and February.
April marks the peak month of the “Long Rains” season. The outlook for April 2021 indicates that several parts of the country are likely to experience near to above average rainfall.
The North-eastern parts of the country are, however, likely to receive depressed rainfall. The distribution is likely to be poor both in time and space over northeast especially towards the end of the month.
Some days may be characterized by heavy storms especially over the South-eastern Lowlands, the Highlands East of the Rift Valley including Nairobi County, the Northwest and the Highlands West of the Rift Valley.
