Denis Kipkoech, a police officer, died as a result of banditry attacks in Gilgil. Kipkoech was attacked on June 1, 2022 by bandits in Nanyuki Ranch where he was shot and died on the spot.
He was the son of the late Daniel Kemei and Caroline Kemei. In a post by tuko.co.ke on Facebook, it stated that the 23 years old police officer was killed by bandits ambushed who ambushed him and his colleagues while on a night patrol in Laikipia.
The young man was just four months old in service and was shot dead by bandits when he was to go home for a leave.

Kirwas' body was moved to Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Morgue where an autopsy was done and later moved to Umash Funeral Home where it stayed until it was taken home June 8.
This was really a sad news to family and Kenya as a nation. When one joins police force or military force, their families always have hope of some good future but it's so heartbreaking when he/she dies in his first days on duty. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
