A senior police officer in Kuria West, Migori County is nursing an injury after being stabbed by a drunkard.
The Star reports that Kuria West Sub-County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo revealed that the attacked officer is the officer-in-charge of Masaba Police Post.
Kimaiyo noted that on January 1st 2023, the victim was reportedly called by concerned revellers, who informed him that there was a suspect who was publicly brandishing a machete and a knife inside Apple pub in Masaba Centre.
The officer rushed to the said pub and found the said drunkard still holding the said weapon. He then attempted to disarm him but in the process, the drunkard dropped the machete and stabbed the officer with a knife.
According to the publication, the officer was stabbed in his right upper thigh before the drunkard disappeared into the darkness.
Police are now hunting down the suspect said to be known in the area.
“He a known wanted suspect for now and he knows it. Let him surrender,” Kimaiyo said
