Several people trapped after a roof partially collapsed at an Amazon.com Inc warehouse near St. Louis on late Friday. This occurred after tornadoes and strong storms blew through the area, local authorities said.

The emergency teams surrounded the scene to carry out the rescue operation. The Colinsville Emergency Management Agency said it was a mass casualty incident. They added that multiple people have been trapped inside the warehouse in Edwardsville.
The agency did not reveal details of how many people were trapped or number of people who have perished rather said they were still assessing the situation and damage at the facility.

The US weather service had issued a warning on the risk of tornado in several states including Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri and Illinois.
Illinois Governor send a message of prayer to those affected and those who are trapped inside the warehouse.
"My prayers are with the people of Edwardsville tonight, and I've reached out to the mayor to provide any needed state resources," Illinois Governor JB Pritzker tweeted.
