The residents of Taruga village were left in shock after a 24 year old man identified as Steve Olumbe ended his grandmother's life by cutting her with an axe. Steve also killed three cows and several goats with the same axe leaving other animals with injuries.
The old lady screamed for help but no one came to rescue her. One man revealed that a certain lady heard the screams but then she had to run for her life because Steve threatened to kill her too.
It seems the lady alerted the villagers after finding out what had happened but Steve ran away before getting caught. The police arrived at the scene when it was too late since Steve's grandmother was already dead.
There were speculations that Steve is mentally challenged and does not think straight that's why he had no problem with engaging in such sinful actions.
Police told the residents to remain calm as they were investigating the matter and trying their best to bring Steve to custody.
