The event took place in Kerio valley where suspected bandits that have been driven out of Olmoran Laikipia county.
The event took place in broad daylight where the two were undertaking their activities when the Bandits ambushed them shooting them.The victims died on the spot.
The bandits are heavily armed with a constant supply of bullets and food as they forceful steal livestock.The aim of the bandits is to rob residents their livestock and it is believed that very senior people are supporting them.
The supply of bullets to the bandits is yet to be traced inorder to deal with the root of the matter.The government deployed a heavy security profile inorder to drive the Bandits out of Laikipia county.
The effect of the ongoing operation is slowly bearing fruits as some livestock have been recovered and bandits killed in cold blood wars between the police forces.
The CS interior Fred Matiangi has raised an alarm that now the operation will be escalated to levels where a lot of serious effects Will be felt.He warned that those not registered as Olmoran residents will face the wrath of the security agencies.
The residents of Kerio valley participated in a peaceful strike to condemn the issue.They accused the police and security agencies of laxity to respond to the issue.They claimed that the officers took a long time before responding yet they would have dealt with the issue.
They claimed that their security is at threat and fear has now engulfed the citizens.They have raised an issue that the security agencies are not willing to offer security to them.They have mourned the loss of a whole family where the pain could be felt as tension cut through the crowd.
It is clear that now the bandits are more than willing to conduct their banditary activities in other counties.
