Four People Die, Several Injured After A Matatu Hit a Donkey and Swerved Off The Road

Kenyan roads have been described as exceptionally dangerous for vulnerable users like children, out of whom a significant number of them are among those killed and injured.

Four people lost their lives in a fatal road accident at the Paranai area of Kajiado county on the Namanga-Nairobi highway.

The four, among them an 8-month-old child died on the spot on the Sunday night accident.

It is alleged that the accident occurred when a 14-seater matatu was overtaking another vehicle.

According to witnesses, the driver of the matatu lost control, hit a donkey and swerved off the road before crashing into a ditch.

The survivors who sustained serious injuries were rushed to hospital for medical attention.

The bodies of the victims taken to the City mortuary in Nairobi for preservation.

The accident expounds the rate of fatalities from road crashes that have been on the rise since the campaigns period hit fever pitch.
