What Kisii Villagers Found in Front Of 'Bewitched' Boy's House That Made Them Lynch Old Women

It was a black Sunday in Kisii County where a group of strangers armed to the teeth with pangas, clubs and axes mercilessly attacked four women before burning them to death on suspicion they were witches.

On that chilly Sunday morning, one of those killed, Mrs. Sindege Mayaka was busy attending to her poultry at her home in Morero village, Marani sub-county in Kisii County when a group of irritated youths stormed her home dragging her to the nearby Nyagonyi Primary School where she was lynched.

According to reports, the angry strangers claimed that they sported a cross that was planted on the front side of the boy's house indicating that the boy has been bewitched.

This prompted a ritual to be carried out where the deceased was laid on the ground that led to the Sindege Mayaka and the other three women being mercilessly lynched before being burnt.

The suspects in the murder have been arrested and are awaiting a hearing in ten days time.
