Following a burglary altercation, cops from the Kitale police precinct were on surveillance when they made the apprehension of a perpetrator in a violent robbery.
A gang of five guys, including Dan Muiruri, 27, who was wearing a police smoking jacket, struck a man on his way home on Sunday night.
The victim's cell phone as well as other belongings were taken, according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, by the group.
Police officers on watch were informed about the occurrence by the plaintiff, and they immediately began looking for the perpetrators.
The offender was taken into custody, and the victim's cellphone was found an hour later.
A kitchen knife as well as 17 rolls of marijuana were also found, according to the DCI.
In anticipation of the indictment on charges of violent robbery in violation of Sections 203 and 204 of the Penal Code, the suspect is being held in jail.
