Following a hot grilling session today by the National Assembly Public Investment Committee that saw Jubilee vice-chair David Murathe and alleged owner of Kilig Limited Wilfred Gatei Gachoka were interrogated over the covid billionaire scandal where they benefited Sh4 billion from KEMSA.

Following a revelation from Mr. Gachoka, he mentioned former news anchor Julie Gichuru's husband, Tony Gichuru as being one of his co-partner in the business where they were given a tender to supply KEMSA with Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs) worth Sh4 billion.

Gichuru who is the son of former Kenya Power Lighting Company (KPLC) boss Samuel Gichuru, has been caught up in the circle among the thieves who stole billions of shillings from KEMSA. The senior Gichuru who has been on the radar of the bureau in Jersey Island for claims of money laundering and frauds had been extradited to face criminal charges in Jersey.

It however not clear the extent of Tony Gichuru's involvement in the scandal but surely the committee will have to summon him one way or another to answer accusations leveled against him in the KEMSA scandal.

One may include or suggest could it be the case of like father like son?
