Some things you may not know about Dr William Ruto

William Ruto was born on 21st December 1966.He hails from Kamgut village in Rift Valley region.He went to Warange secondary school and later Kabsabet Boys in Nandi county.

He later joined The University of Nairobi to do Botany and zoology where he graduated with BSC on the same field in 1990.He again went to the same University to do Masters in Plant Ecology. Later on to Nairobi university to do Phd and graduated in 2018.

personal wealth

He owns real estate firms like Weston Hotel,and AMACO Insurance company .He also has a large farm in Sugoi.He has a company which makes concrete posts for power.Ruto has also a large farm of poultry and several choppers like 5Y DCM,5Y DCN,Eurocopter,5Y SAN and Air Bus Helicopter .He also owns Oseng properties in Uasin Gishu County estimated at 1.2 Billion shillings.


social life

It is believed that Ruto doesn't keep friends for inner circle. His friends are loyal but he doesn't do the same. He only manages to keep sycophants .He plays use and leave method they say.

political life

He started his political career back in 1992 to support Moi in KANU.In 1997 he was elected in Eldoret North constituency. In 2002 he was appointed by president Moi as an assistant minister for foreign affairs. He become secretary General of KANU in 2005.He failed to be nominated to seek for presidency under ODM party.

In 2007 when there was a disputed elections between Kibaki and Raila he was still a member. In 2008 he was appointed a minister of Agriculture under grand coalition government. In 2010 he was given ministry of Higher Education. He later stepped down. He completed his Masters degree in environmental science.

In 2013 Ruto and Uhuru Kenyatta were voted in and became Deputy president and president respectively.
