Mwangi Wa Iria's background in Murang'a was on Friday morning in a celebratory mood following the flooring of the BBI document by the courts. This is despite the area governor being a big supporter of the Building Bridges Initiative.
Pictures from the area show a multitude of people celebrating with a majority claiming that this was the right move and the courts needed to be applauded for the move. According to the area residents, the document is not a priority at the moment since the economy has continued to suffer following the pandemic which rendered many jobless.
The crowds were seen matching towards Makuyu as they heaped praises to the deputy president for standing firm on the unconstitutionality of the document which was dealt a major blow by a five-member judge. The region has been opposed to the document despite numerous attempts by Uhuru to sell the document to them.
