Renowned gospel singer and preacher Ruth Matete recounted her last moments with her late Nigerian husband through an emotional post on her Instagram account. Matete's husband died two years ago after a gas cylinder accident at their apartment in Athi River.
She recounted that when her husband was being rushed to the hospital in an ambulance after the accident, he told her that he wouldn't make it. She kept on encouraging him that all will be fine but it is like he had already predicted his death.
He told her all that he wanted to do before he died. Ruth was pregnant at the time and during his last moments, he instructed her to name their baby Toluwa.
Apparently, Toluwa is a unis3x name. He also gave her a message to deliver to his sister and brother.
Ruth's husband was admitted to the hospital for two weeks before he died and every time she visited him, he kept on asking why God has not taken away his life.
''God gave him two weeks. In those two weeks, each time I went to visit him, he would ask me “Oh! Am I still here? ''It’s like he waited for death. I felt like he didn’t fight to live. But anyway, I will never know fully'' she wrote on her Instagram account.
Below is a screenshot of her Instagram post where she recounted her last moments with her late husband.
