
Sombre mood has engulfed Gatekene area of Imenti South sub-county in Meru county as residents attentively follow the burial procession of one of their departed sons who had an illustrious career in the disciplined forces.
The funeral mass for the Late Mr. Charlton Murithi Muruiki, EBS, OGW, NDC (K), who until his demise was the Director Kenya National Focal Point on Small Arms is being held at Gatekene Primary School grounds.
Senior and junior police officers drawn from different formations in the police service are also in attendance, the most outstanding of them being directorate of criminal investigations boss George Kinoti.

Photos captured at the funeral mass venue show hundreds of police officers dressed in their ceremonial regalia which is characteristic burial rights of all serving officers who die while on duty.
After the mass, the body will be transferred to the burial site in the deceased's home where he will be accorded the ceremonial gun salute before being lowered to the grave.
