The pick-up was reportedly said to be delivering goods in Nairobi town when the driver lost control and veered off the road to the opposite direction ramming into the oncoming chinese truck.
According to Southern Bypass traffic police officer, Bennett Ouko said a pick-up was ferrying goods to Nairobi town from Nakuru County while the Chinese truck was coming from Githurai 45 when the accident happened.
“The Pick-up driver lost control and it veered off the road to the second lane before hitting the chinese truck on the door,” Bennett said.
Bennet said the driver of the pick-up died on the spot.The accident that occurred at around 3pm and investigations are still ongoing.
The latest comes barely two weeks after a bodaboda operator died on the spot after he was hit by an oncoming car along the busy highway.
The body of the deceased has since been moved to Mbagathi hospital mortuary.
