Police in Murang'a have launched investigations following the defrauding of women by a group of four people using William Ruto's name.
The women have lost almost one Million.The three men and one women have been asking villagers for Kshs 680 registration fee promising the DP'S wife,Rachel will give each Christmas gifts valued at Kshs 10000.
Dr.Ruto's communication spokes person Emmanuel Talam said, Mrs Ruto has not sanctioned such a programme.He said that those fraudsters should be reported to the police.
The Central Regional Coordinator,Wilfred Nyagangwa said that the group has been targeting women groups.He said that their atleast 1500 victims.
The UDA official in the area said that some Officials of the women groups are involved in the racket.Whereby the cons are being tipped on where the women groups are meeting.
The racket has gone unnoticed for long since the targeted women treat it as a top secret.The women kept the matter a secret because they do not want to sabotaged by their husbands.
