The People of Ayuoye region, Nyando Constituency in Kisumu County woke up to a horrific incident on May 1, 2021 after discovering bodies of two secondary school students who are said to have been murdered by unknown assailants.
Early Saturday morning, the villagers who were going about their daily endeavors bumped into a body of a form 2 girl several meters from her home. It was however not the end of the sad day for the Ayueyo Villagers as yet another body of a form 3 boy was found dead and hanging on a tree.
The boy who also hails from the same village is said to have been found just about 400 meters from the scene where the deceased girl was found.
According to the father of the girl Mr. Gordon Onyango who spoke to the authorities, he last saw his daughter on Friday night after meals. Mr. Onyango narrated that his daughter had left the house to go to the pit latrine which is within the homestead however few minutes later he had her scream as if she was in some kind of danger.
He then got out of the house to confirm what was going on but the scream of his daughter faded away and that’s when he last saw his daughter. He said that he searched for his daughter the whole night without finding her only to receive information on Saturday that his daughter’s body was found lifeless in one of the area’s dam.
Well, the authorities have not yet established whether the two suspicious deaths were related however such possibilities cannot be ruled out because when the boy was found hanging on the tree, a phone belonging to the dead girl’s mother was found next to him.
Mr. Gordon had earlier stated that his daughter had left the house while carrying the phone that belongs to her mother. The bodies of the two teenagers have since been taken to a morgue as investigations into their death commence.
