The number of reported suicide cases in the country have risen significantly for the past one year with many people taking away their own life due to different reasons.

According to data from the government, the number of people who have committed suicide in the past one year has increased by two times. The Covid-19 Pandemic has been mentioned as a major factor.

Many Kenyans have been struggling with depression and mental health problems since the pandemic hit. Many people lost their jobs with companies forced to shut down their operations during this period.

Earlier today, residents of Umoja were left in shock after a middle-aged man tried to commit suicide. According to a report by Umoja news, Police are looking for an Umoja Estate man who set the house on fire in an attempted suicide. The suspect escaped after the flames became too hot. It's still unclear what pushed him to such a decision.

Meanwhile, share with us your thoughts on the matter kindly.
