According to reliable reports, the fire incident of unknown cause started in the 8 roomed residential home with the family members in it which led to the death of the disabled woman due to smoke inhalation.
The reports state that another woman who was also trapped in the house was rescued and rushed to hospital where she is recovering well.
Nyeri County fire fighters responded quickly to the alarm and managed to put out the fire before getting wild.
"One disabled woman perished in a fire incident while another victim was rushed at Tumutumu hospital after an 8-roomed residential house caught fire at Wariruta village, Kirimukuyu ward in Mathira.
The woman died at the scene as a result of smoke inhalation." The reports stated. Police officers are set to investigate the cause of the fire.
