On Friday, Authorities arrested 5 dangerous bank robbers who were preparing to rob Prime Bank within Nairobi CBD.
According to sources privy to the arrests, the 5 had booked themselves into Angle House on Ukwala Lane within OTC area, just next to their target.
The criminals were bursted a few minutes past Midnight, before executing their plan. Sources say the thieves planned to rob the Bank in the wee hours of Friday morning.
“DCI officers and police established that the five were waiting to conduct their raid in the wee hours of Friday [today],” police said in a report filed at the Kamukunji Police Station.
Each of the thieves were only identified by one name as Mulo, Muderwa, Muriuki, Mungai and Njuka, with Mr Njuka said to have drilled the ceiling and hid in it after learning of police presence.
An identification parade will be conducted on Friday, to try and establish the true identities of the criminals.
