On Tuesday, three gangsters, armed and on a purported robbery expedition, engaged detectives stationed at DCI-Makadara at close to midnight in a vicious shootout that left one armed thug dead.
When the armed thugs refused to submit and turned against the undercover investigators, the DCI claims that they silenced them in reprisal.
The sound of a Subaru flying past the estate at high speed was heard after the firefight. Detectives pursued the two surviving suspects, whose corpses were covered in gunshot wounds and who had retreated into the gloomy Marigu-ini slums, the DCI added.
The sleuths had earlier been informed about the marauding group that was ruthlessly hitting pedestrians on Mariakani Road.
The fallen thug's lifeless body was found at the scene of the incident lying in a storm drain ditch with his tools of the trade, a homemade gun, and a walkie-talkie-like communication device nearby.
DCI stated that after the body was taken to a city morgue for autopsy, detectives assigned to the Forensic Crime Scene Investigations section photographed the scene of the crime.
DCI said that a search for the other conspirators is ongoing as detectives step up their patrols to guarantee that city dwellers may celebrate the holiday season in peace.
