Wakapee passed on 22nd February 2021 after he succumbed to brain cancer. He has been ill for a long period of years ever since being elected for parliament. He had been traveling to India for treatment until his departure.
Today he is being laid to rest at his home in Juja, Kiambu county. The funeral service is being held at Jomo Kenyatta University grounds the followed by his burial at home.
In attendance is the President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta and also government leaders from the Senate and also Members of Parliament from different constituencies. Also in attendance are members of the public from the Juja constituency who Wakapee served for 2 elective terms.
Wakapee will be remembered for being a hard working member of parliament, providing solutions to the public. He did a good job achieving the best performing constituency in the whole country in the CDF-NG. He was a person of the people and people have poured many proud moments with the late.
