Residents of Fort Ternan are calling on the road users along the Kericho Kisumu Highway to be cautious after a bus overturned around noon and is feared to have consumed many lives alongside several other injuries.
Police officers drawn from the Kericho police station confirmed the incident and warned other motorists to be wary of the spot, terming it as a black spot.
The emergency response team from the county Hospital attended to the victims at the scene. The critical cases were rushed to the hospital for further examination and treatment for the injuries sustained.
The wreckage of the Mbukinya Bus Service has been towed to the police station, the officers will begin investigating the real cause of the accident.
It is presumed that the unfortunate accident could have been caused by the slippery road. Heavy rainfall has hit the region recently.
Reports show that in two months, the area has had three accidents. In August, five people lost their lives on the said road after a matatu lost the way and rammed into a nearby house.
Motorists and other road users are advised to take much caution on the road at this point of the year when the Christmas Season is approaching, and as the norm, several accidents are prone to occur. Some, due to the recklessness of the drivers.
