
A woman reportedly killed her husband before hanging herself in Tharaka Nithi county. the couple is believed to have left three children. The husband who was a Chuka university architect and the head of the estate department was found in a pool of blood in the parking lot of his homestead.
It is believed that the wife used a metal rod which was found next to the body stained with blood and had been used to hit him severally. Police also discovered a suicide note believed to have been written by Ms Wanja (wife) before she hanged herself and apologised to their three children for the deaths.
The officer said cases of spouses killing each other were on the rise in the region and urged married partners to separate instead of killing someone or resorting to suicide since the was another case of the same drama in the same county.
Chuka University management sent condolences to the family and encouraged members of staff with family disputes to seek counselling before things get out of hand.
