Five people have lost their lives after a bandit attack in Isiolo earlier today. Three women and two men died after they were ambushed and shot dead by the bandits in Mado Wale village, Basa location in Merti sub-county.
Police reports indicate that the suspected bandits raided the village at dawn and shot dead the five villagers before torching the Mado Wale community borehole. The borehole serves as the sole water point for the residents.

Isiolo county commissioner Herman Shambi has appealed to the residents not to revenge the attack but rather to allow the police to track down the assailants.
Insecurity in the area has for a long time been a menace and deterrent to grow and development of the area and Merti sub-county at large.
The administrator has urged leaders and elders of the.community to join hands and spearhead peace efforts. He reiterated that this could lead to a lasting solution to the insecurity in the area and county at large.
