Makueni Deputy Majority Leader Harrison Ngugi Dies In A Road Accident

Makueni County police commander Joseph Napeiyan has confirmed the death of Harrison Ngugi.The MCA died on the spot after his vehicle was involved in accident that occurred at 6:30 pm at Salama area in Makueni County. Harrison Ngugi is the Deputy Majority Leader in the county assembly of Makueni.

“Salama Police Station is reporting a fatal injury road traffic accident which occurred today 15/06/2021 at about 1830hrs within ACK area along Mombasa Nairobi Highway,”a report from the police reads.The accident involved a grey Toyota Land cruiser belonging to Harrison Ngugi and a cargo trailer along Mombasa- Nairobi Highway.

Police say that the driver of the trailer was driving at a high speed and had even overtaken several vehicles before the accident took place. Over-speeding and overtaking are the main causes of road accidents according to police report.

"Honorable Ngui chaired a joint committee on the South Eastern Economic Bloc, which brings together Kitui, Machakos and Makueni counties," Makueni Assembly Speaker Douglas Mbilu said.
