Corona virus has been a serious threat to our country Kenya since last year March. Many Kenyans have been suffering as result of the tough restrictions that were imposed by the government on 26th of March 2020.The government ordered the closure of bars, restaurants, cafes and hotels in Nairobi, Nakuru, Machakos, Kajiado and Kiambu counties.
This idea was actually good since a positive change have been evident in the recent covid-19 report from the above five counties.A reduction in the number of corona virus cases have been witnessed in those counties according to the recent reports from the ministry of health.
However, to be realistic, the war against the pandemic is not yet over since there are still seven counties that are actually currently rampant in reporting the highest number of corona virus cases on daily basis.Elgeyo Marakwet, Kitui, Mombasa, Murang'a, Laikipia, Kericho and Uasin Gishu county have been producing higher number of corona virus cases according to the recent reports. This battle still requires each and everyone's responsibility and effort.
That is why am suggesting that the government should use the same criteria that was used in Nairobi, Nakuru, Machakos, Kajiado and Kiambu counties to help the above mentioned seven counties.Kenyans should understand that life is more important than anything else and needs to be protected by all means possible.
The government should order for the closure of all bars, churches, restaurants and cafes in the above mentioned seven counties for only thirty days since these are the places that involves gathering and congregation hence maintaining social distancing becomes a very big challenge.
I strongly believe and trust that if the government strictly applies this method, then a positive change will be seen.
