The case of murder and robbery with violence has been on rising for the last few days. As a result, the cabinet secretary internal security and inspector general of police have been struggling to get a solution to this vice.
Today the inspector general has stated that the government has established a special unit that will be handling cases of robbery and violence and muggings in cities.
Several cases have been reported in Nairobi. In some incidence people are kidnapped, others disappear mysteriously then they are found dead.
The most recent is that of an American -Somalian businessman who just disappeared and after few days his car was found burnt into ashes in Ngong forest. Then after a thorough investigation, his body was found thrown into a certain river in Kirinyaga county.
The has come at the right time. All Kenyan hopes that the special police unit will receive adequate training. The training should be sophisticated to help them to tame tricky and cunning city thugs.
