
The increasing number of suicide cases in Kirinyanga county has alarmed the locals. They have had three recent instances in the previous three months. The most recent terrible incident involves a 10-year-old boy a fourth-grade student who has committed suicide. On Tuesday, the boy hanged himself at their home in the Kibingoti village in Ndia sub-county Kirinyanga county.
Earlier the boy had shown no signs of taking his life and seemed to be happy. According to his grandmother, Rose Nyambura Ritho who was in great shock said the young boy's body was discovered on Tuesday night. Ndia Sub-County Police Commander Moses Koskei confirmed the incident saying an investigation is underway.
The residents were left in dilemma as it was reported that the boy was earlier seen digging a ditch deep enough to a size of a grave. After his death it was discovered that the boy could have been digging his own grave.
