JUST IN: Gov't Announces Ksh1.2 Million Penalty For Police Officers Who'll Default This Directive

The government of President William Ruto has now said that all police officers will be fined Kshs 1.2 million.

The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Japheth Koome, said on Tuesday, during the passing out parade at Kiganjo Police Training College, that the officers must stay in their jobs for exactly 10 years.

Reports say that the penalty mentioned above would be in line with how much the government invested in a recruit during training. The Kenyan government spent Ksh5.7 billion to train the officers who graduated today, according to a report in the Star.

This comes after a recent report that said the police command loses about 2,000 officers every year. The huge fine will literally force the constables to stay on the job until the end of their required term.

President William Ruto was also at today's graduation parade. He helped give awards to the best-performing officers during the training exercise.
