Police in Kitui County have recovered bhang of an unknown estimate from a Toyota Sienna car that was abandoned by unknown men. The car had been flagged to stop at a road block but they refused and ran over the spikes.
Police manning a roadblock at Kwakonga on the busy Kitui-Machakos Highway tried to stop the vehicle registration number KDA 481R. The officers gave chase and found it abandoned at a market known as Kwavonza after which they impounded the vehicle.
Upon thorough search, police found a sack which contained 27 kilograms of bhang. They also recovered 64o stones of the same drug which is of an unknown market value at the moment.
Police from the Kwavonza Police Station are doing their best to locate the two occupants of the car. There has been talk in Parliament of legalizing the substance but the debate has never been brought up before the house.
