Bolt Kenya is a platform designed purposely for citizens to book and ask for an urgent an comfortable ride within the country. The ride is always on short distances as it operates within a limit of four passengers. Today the female gender can smile after Bolt added a "women only" feature in their application which will enable women book drives from women drivers only.
Nairobi Gossip Club has updated the gossip through their Instagram account stating that, "Bolt has launched a women-only service that enables women passengers to request rides from fellow women drivers only. The move follows the rising cases of harassment and gender-based violence on public transportation."
This came following a case where one driver was reported attempting to harass a rider on 30/08/2021. It was not clear if the rider who was a lady in company of her seven friends was seriously injured. In defense the accused too recorded a statement that all the eight guys tried to attack him for not allowing them all in. He tried to explain to them that Bolt rules allows a maximum of four riders at a go but they were determined to riding in excess. This prompted the driver to defend himself physically and that's how some riders were physically injured.
