A kisumu-bound train has reportedly derailed and veered off the rail on the morning of Saturday, September 24th, 2022at Mamboleo area. The cause of the train to derail is yet to be established but relevant authorities are currently at the scene to establish what happened. No casualties have been reported from the scene of the incident.
According to photos shared by Sources, one container which bears the train's engine was the one that had derailed. According to previous accidents involving a train, most of them derail Incase they come across an interference on the railway line or driver's mistake.
Accidents involving trains are very minimal die to the nature of the means of transport and lack of traffic interference. Reports now indicates that no casualties were reported and efforts to bring the train back to it rail are currently ongoing. Here are some reactions from Kenyans concerning the accident.
