Two Victims Of Bandit Attack In Marakwet West laid Today

Two victims that were killed during an attack by the Bandits Marakwet West have been laid to rest. The two were killed during the banditry attack at Koitalial village. On the Scene, seven people were badly injured.

According to residents, almost 600 heads of cattle were raided and the bandits were seen crossing river Kerio to Tiaty in Baringo

However the elders of Marakwet have condemned the government over failing to maintain security in their region. Insecurity has been experienced in this region together with other northern Kenya regions. Killings, cattle raiding and kidnapping cases have been rampant all over the region over the years.

The government has been promising to offer security and arrest the bandits at any cost but all has been in vain. According to the speech from the elders they said that they are tired of horror killings every now and then.

Marakwet West residents condemned the cabinet secretary for interior Fred Matiang'i for his failure to focus on his duty. However they added that they will find means to meet the president of the nation in state house and report this cases to him physically.
