Paul Gicheru's Mother Misses His Mass

Divisions have been witnessed in lawyer Paul Gicheru's family after his mother Josephine Wamboi failed to turn up for her son's mass which was carried out on Tuesday. Wamboi has been walking very close with the investigation officers ever since Gicheru passed away but Kenyans were surprised when she missed the mass of her son. This sent a message that wrangles were going on in the family.

Gicheru's wife and her three children were present at the event. The mass service was planned by Gicheru's wife Ruth Nyambura at Regina Kael Catholic church in Karen. Gicheru was a key suspect in the International Criminal Court in a case facing President William Ruto. The lawyer is reported to have interfered with witnesses in Ruto's case by bribing and threatening them not to testify against Ruto.

He was found dead in his room at his Karen home and speculations went round that he had been poisoned. The government carried out a postmortem on his body but nothing was found. This is the first time the family wrangles were witnessed in the family. Gicheru's wife wanted the postmortem to be carried out in the presence of her children while his mother demanded the exercise continue without them.

Further investigations are ongoing to find out if his death was as a result of a natural cause or a murder. Follow the page for more news updates daily.
