Humphrey Mugambi, the area chief of Kanyakine village, Imenti, Meru county left residents shocked after carrying a suspect on the back on their way to the police station.
Chief Mugambi got reports that there was a person making illicit brews in the village.
Residents led him to the home of John who is the ring leader.
They found the door closed but after peeping in, they noted that John had locked himself inside the house.

They broke the door and upon interrogating him, he claimed that he is sick and widowed and a group of people have been using his home to make the brews in exchange of food, water and medication for him.
Chief Mugambi and the police poured the brews and carried some cans as evidence.
Since John could not walk, the chief carried him on the back to the police station where he will aid the police in investigations.
Chief Mugambi said that he will use all his energy to fight illicit brew in the area. He urged other chiefs to follow suit.
